Astra Dubissette is a pianist and composer from Grenada, West Indies. She was born in New York , USA and grew up on the small Caribbean island of Grenada. She has been surrounded by music her whole life. At the age of 5 she started learning music theory, and began playing the piano at age 7. In the absence of an instructor, her passion led her on a journey of experimenting and learning music as seen in her 4th place position in the 2009 Festival of the Arts - Music Composition Division, at just 15 years of age.

At 18 years, under the tutelage of Prof. Phil Beaman, she enhanced her classical piano playing and composing skills.

In addition to performing at various hotels on the island, Ms. Dubissette also teaches music, using an innovative approach, engaging children as young as 3 years. Her method allows her students to develop a deep appreciation for the history, theory and practical aspects of music.

Astra's style of play is quite whimsical and free spirited, which has the ability to lighten anyone's mood. Her genres are but not limited to: Classical, Pop, Contemporary, Soca, Reggae, Latin, Cinematic and New Age.
